With most live sports cancelled for the spring and summer of 2020, European television sports giant Eurosport will telecast some of the best highlights from the Napoli 2019 World University Games, on Monday 25 May and Tuesday 26 May.
The special two-hour programme – to be aired on Monday at 12:00 (CET) on Eurosport 1 and on Tuesday 22:00 (CET) on Eurosport 2 – will include the best moments from athletics, swimming, water-polo and volleyball that were witnessed during the last edition of the biggest international multisport event for university athletes.
The sun-soaked Italian city of Naples had played host to the 30th edition of the games between 3 and 14 July 2019. The event had captured the imagination of sports fans worldwide, with more than 6,000 athletes representing 118 countries, competing in 18 different sports.
The atmosphere of the World University Games is unique and unmatched, and millions across Europe will have a chance to relive that atmosphere on 25 and 26 May. In addition to some high-octane track and field action, as well as the best of swimming, one of the highlights in the programme will be the men’s Water Polo final between hosts Italy and the United States, which capped off two exciting weeks of action in Italy.
The same broadcast will also be streamed on FISU.TV at 12:00 (CET) on 25 May. FISU’s member federations around the world will also be offered the opportunity to pick up the signal to stream to their own local audiences.
