The best climbers of IFSC Lead Word Cup 2011 will gather on October 28-29 in Valence for the 8th and third last lead event of the season. The competition is organized by the French Federation F.F.M.E together with the climbing club Mineral Spirit at the indoor venue of Polygone.
The number of athletes registered for the competition is considerable. 75 climbers from almost 20 different countries will rival for the fifth time on one of the most amazing permanent walls of France. Chief routesetter Carles Brasco (ESP) and its team will prepare the routes for this competition.
All the stars of IFSC Lead Word Cup 2011, Jakob Schubert (AUT), Ramón Julian Puigblanque (ESP), Jain Kim (KOR), Manuel Romain (FRA), Sachi Amma (JPN), Mina Markovic (SLO), Maja Vidmar (SLO), will show once again their best technique, physical skills and tactic for climbing higher to win the podium. Other excellent athletes like Angela Eiter (AUT), Johanna Ernst AUT), Katharina Posch (AUT), Magdalena Röck (AUT), Sean Mccoll (CAN), Caroline Ciavaldini (FRA), Thomas Tauporn (GER), Jenny Lavarda (ITA), Yana Chereshneva (RUS) and many others will excel too to qualify in the best positions.
Organizers will ensure a great show. High sport performances and a great entertainment are expected to capture the attention of more than 5000 spectators over the two days of competition. Climax will be reached on Saturday night when the Polygone will inflame for the live show of music, lights, colors and giant screens that will accompany finalists’ progressions on the wall.
IFSC competition program will kick off on Friday, October, 28 with men & women qualifications at 9:00 am CET. Men & women semi-finals will take place on Saturday, 29 at 12.30 am CET., while finals will be scheduled on the same evening at 8:00 pm CET, for women’s final, and at 9:30 pm CET. for men’s final.
