(ATR) In the Youth Olympic Village, at competition venues and just about anywhere and everywhere around town, the "Yogging" craze has brought socializing to an all-new level.
Athletes were each given a "Yogger" - a hand-shaped USB device allowing them to instantly share personal details via social media when "flashed" with fellow Yoggers.
"You just walk up to people and ask if you would like to ‘Yogger’ and then you click to become friends on Facebook or Instagram," explained Belgian hurdler Chloe Beaucarne. "It’s amazing, it’s just crazy."
The innovative toy was initially implemented at the Winter YOG in Innsbruck, but has since been improved, with new functions for Nanjing.
Lily Zhang, who became the first American Olympic medalist in table tennis winning a bronze medal in Nanjing, also competed at the 2012 London Games as a 16-year-old.
"The Yoggers have made it really easy to connect with fellow athletes, even easier than it was in London," Zhang said.
