The inspection of the ICMG Coordination Commission in Patras

The inspection of the ICMG Coordination Commission was completed at the offices of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Mediterranean Beach Games "Patras 2019".

The CoCom members met, in one-on-one sessions, with the Director of each functional area and examined the progress regarding the preparation of the Games.

The CoCom welcomed with satisfaction:

The steady flow of funding of the Organizing Committee

The resolution of the accommodation issue concerning the athletes, judges, referees, etc. by booking 1730 beds in 29 hotels in the city and the wider area of Patras and the ongoing signing of contracts

The Games Opening Ceremony scenario, which remains however subject to approval by the ICMG Executive Committee

The Design of Medals, Mascot, Souvenirs, Look and Identity of the Games.

On the other hand, the Coordination Commission expressed its skepticism and intense concern about the delay in the implementation and operation of the electronic Games Management System (GMS), as well as the inability to present an organized plan in the key sector of transport of the Mediterranean Family and the participants in the Games. New strict timetables have been set for this issue.

The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Mediterranean Beach Games "Patras 2019" thanked the members of the CoCom for their effective and creative contribution to identifying and resolving pending issues and continues its effort with even more passion and professionalism in order to organize high-level Games.
