UIPM Announces Live Internet Broadcast

Monaco, 8 August 2007 – Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) and Horizon have announced an agreement to provide exclusive live internet coverage of the World Championships from Berlin on www.247.tv, together with live audio feed on www.pentathlon.org.

Coverage will begin with the Women’s qualification competition on Thursday 16 August starting at 09.00 and continues with coverage of the Men’s Qualification Friday 17 August, the Individuals Finals 18-19 August and the Relay World Championships 20-21 August. The World Championships features over 200 athletes from 40 nations. The Relay World Championships has 16 national teams per gender competing for the title. The athletes come from all over the world, from all five continents and include Olympic and World Champions, World Cup Final winners and top national athletes. In addition to medals and prize money, 3 qualification places per gender for Beijing 2008 are up for grabs. This will be the largest Modern Pentathlon event of the year.
