COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A proud sponsor of the United States Olympic Committee since 2005, Hilton HHonors, the guest loyalty program for Hilton Worldwide's 10 distinct hotel brands, today announced its renewed sponsorship of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams, which will extend through the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi and the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio.
Hilton HHonors' support for Team USA ensures a lasting commitment to the USOC that will help generations of athletes pursue their Olympic and Paralympic dreams. As the official hotel sponsor of Team USA, Hilton HHonors provides discounted hotel rates to U.S. Olympians and Paralympians, the USOC and members of National Governing Bodies, as well as renovations to U.S. Olympic Training Centers, giving athletes a comfortable space to relax and rejuvenate after a long day of training. Hilton HHonors also helps prepare athletes for life beyond their athletic careers through the Team USA Athlete Career Program, which offers U.S. athletes jobs in their fields of interest while allowing them to continue their athletic training.
"Hilton HHonors is proud to extend our commitment to Team USA through 2016 not only because it's a great cause, but because it aligns so closely with our founder's vision: world peace through international travel and trade," said Jeff Diskin, executive vice president, Hilton Worldwide. "As a long-standing supporter of the Olympic Movement, this is an opportunity to continue to provide our world-class hospitality to the athletes while training and competing, while further connecting our team members and guests to the Olympic spirit."
"Hilton HHonors is a great partner to the USOC, and we are thrilled that its support of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes will continue through 2016," said Lisa Baird, chief marketing officer, USOC. "We truly appreciate the innovative commitment that Hilton HHonors makes to serving Team USA athletes, including its support of the Road to Sochi campaign and its promotion of the Olympic Movement throughout the quadrennial."
Since 2005, Hilton HHonors has contributed to renovations at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, the Lakeshore Foundation Paralympic Training Site and USA Gymnastics National Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch. Additional refurbishments are being planned for the Olympic Training Centers in Colorado Springs, Chula Vista and Lake Placid through the donations collected during the 2012 "Support the Dream" U.S. Olympic program. Hilton HHonors will work closely with the USOC to identify other opportunities to upgrade amenities at these and other training facilities over the course of its renewed partnership, and will also work with the USOC to expand its involvement in the Team USA Career program.
In addition to its Team USA sponsorship, Hilton HHonors is the official hotel partner of USA Gymnastics, USA Volleyball and the U.S. Figure Skating Team.
