The three cities bidding to host the 2018 Winter Olympics will make their final presentations for this year at the European Olympic Committees General Assembly in Belgrade, Serbia, Nov. 26.
Around the Rings will cover the two-day event with correspondent Marta Falconi reporting from the meeting.
IOC President Jacques Rogge will address the meeting Friday, Nov. 26, along with reports from EOC President Patrick Hickey and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg. The 2018 bid city presentations will follow.
Munich, Germany, Annecy, France, and PyeongChang, South Korea, are bidding to host the 2018 Winter Olympics. The IOC will vote on the host city in July.
"The EOC General Assembly will be full of Olympic reports, so it’s essential that ATR is on the scene for the meeting," said ATR editor Ed Hula.
"Not only do we have the 2018 bid cities presenting, but the EOC will elect the host cities for the 2015 Winter and Summer European Youth Olympic Festival. We also will have final reports from Vancouver and Singapore and progress reports from London, Innsbruck, Sochi and Rio."
Continuing on the scene coverage, ATR reporter Matt Horn is reporting from the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou.
ATR has been on the scene in Asia since before the opening ceremony on Nov. 12 and as China has dominated the medal tally. ATR will remain on the scene through the final days of competition and the closing ceremony Nov. 27.
The Asian Games were first hosted in 1951 with nearly 500 athletes and 11 countries participating. The multi-sport event is held every four years.
Named the largest Asian Games ever, the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou has included more than 1,000 athletes and 45 countries.
