(ATR) The search is on for a chair and a CEO to lead the Olympic Delivery Authority, the public agency being formed to oversee the ambitious infrastructure improvements planned for the London Olympics. Ads for the jobs are appearing this week.
"I hope that some of the brightest stars in business and public life will want to take up this challenge," Tessa Jowell, Minister for the Olympics.
"We need to make sure we have the highest caliber candidates for the roles of Chair and Chief Executive of the ODA. The job of ensuring that the venues, transport and infrastructure for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are delivered on time and on budget is an enormous one, and will require great skill in organization and communication," says the minister.
The ODA is now the subject of legislation in Parliament that is due to be considered in October. The new agency expected to be in operation in the first half of 2006.
