In search of improving coexistence in the country's capital and throughout the country, the Head of Government of Mexico City decided to go to her social networks to try to connect with young people, with the express intention of asking them to stay away from the crime that exists on the streets.
Through a post on her Twitter account, Claudia Sheinbaum expressed that there are “more opportunities in life”, so she urged her readers to reorient their path; this with the support of the Government of Mexico and to initiate the “Builders for Peace” program, which will seek to recruit 15,000 young people from neighborhoods and colonies with greater social backwardness.
“In coordination with @GobiernoMX we want to tell l @s young people to commit crimes: stop violence, crime, there are more opportunities for life. From today on, we will knock on the door of these young people to give them this message. In this way we will build peace in the city and in the country,” he wrote.
Because the publication did not mention or specify the details of the new program, the capital's president received criticism from some users, who jokingly considered that a post on Twitter could not correct the path of youth.
Some memes even appeared on the famous social network, who did not miss the opportunity to mention that such publications were not enough to fight crime in Mexico City or throughout the country.
“- Claudia, Claudia! The levels of insecurity are through the roof. - Children, they are already 8 and 10 years old, I can't fix all their problems. - But Claudia! - No buts! Go back to the streets, look criminals in the eye and tell them that there are more opportunities in life,” wrote one of the users, in parody of an episode of The Simpsons.
In addition to the parody, another recalled the proposal of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the beginning of his term, when he made the phrase “Hugs, not bullets” popular, so they accompanied with a fictitious graphic of how crime descended from such proposals.
“What do you mean from now on? Wasn't that fair what AMLO proposed in 2018 that (surprisingly) didn't work? ”, wrote another account in direct response to Claudia Sheinbaum's publication.
Javi Noble, the fictional character in the acclaimed Mexican film Nosotros los Nobles, also appeared among the comic responses, as he satired the inefficient idea of ending crime.
It is worth mentioning that these types of complaints were in the direction that he did not give details of the new program to rescue youth, so a large sector interpreted it as a simple tweet to eradicate crime in young people.
“AND POOM! , paps, bye delinquency”, was read in another publication.
“For God's sake! What a great idea. How could it not occur to me?” , pointed to another of the answers, in a meme with another character from The Simpsons.
In addition, references with Futurama and speakers from some religion also came out, with the aim of comparing Sheinbaum's intentions with this post.
