They capture a foreigner suspected of strangling a doctor in his apartment in Lince

The life of a 29-year-old doctor identified as Kevin Lucano Tejada came to an end shortly after he entered his apartment accompanied by a Venezuelan citizen. Inside, according to the authorities' reports, the health professional was strangled and his body abandoned by the criminal who rummaged through his belongings and then left the building with two suitcases, one of them, the ones his victim was carrying when he entered his home, as shown by the security cameras. Now, the whereabouts of the suspect are known.

Luis Pablo Suárez Rodríguez, 20, is the young man arrested last weekend in Chiclayo as a suspect in Lucano's unfortunate death in his apartment located in the district of Lince. The suspect also strangled a restaurant owner identified as 58-year-old Elmer Bazán Suarez. The fact would have allowed the authorities to find his whereabouts so that he could finally be brought to justice. As in the first case, the suspect entered a room with his victim and a few hours later left the scene all alone.

The Peruvian National Police designates him as one of the main suspects in the crime that occurred in the well-known Lima district. In addition, it is known that Suarez Rodríguez has a history of drug possession and micromarketing. Once the Divincri completes the corresponding interrogation, the Venezuelan citizen must be transferred to the capital to give his statement regarding the death of the young doctor on February 27.

UNFORTUNATE CRIME

The method used to kill a restaurant owner bears similarities to those that happened in Lince at the beginning of the year. In the case of the murdered doctor, they are both seen arriving in a room, this being the apartment of the 29-year-old. Among the details to keep in mind is that the suspect enters wearing sandals while his victim is wearing a backpack.

“That day he went to that department in the company of another person of foreign nationality,” said the police after obtaining the footage from the building's security cameras showing both of them transporting through the corridors of the first level, then reaching the elevator and finally going up to the apartment.

“The person indicated that he should not be registered, it was a friendship, this line of action that this foreign friendship betrayed professional loyalty with the sole purpose of stealing the belongings of the Peruvian citizen,” said the police officer in charge of this case.

Witnesses point out that the body was found lying on the floor of his room, lifeless, next to his bed and showing signs of being severely beaten. On the other hand, the images released when the crime became known reveal that the suspect had searched through the doctor's belongings as it was possible to observe that the area was in total disorder.

“It causes a mechanical asphyxiation, a hanging, a building element to later facilitate the theft of his things,” said the authority. On his way out, the suspect is seen with two suitcases and this time wearing sneakers that he is believed to have stolen as well as various belongings of the murdered man. When leaving, the cameras recorded that the Venezuelan citizen makes the gesture of calling a taxi; however, he continues his route walking towards Javier Prado Avenue. Regarding this case, the victim's family preferred not to talk to the media.
