In the last 24 hours, three people were killed in the city of Leon, in the state of Guanajuato. The victims, deprived of life in different events, were a woman of Cuban nationality and two unidentified men.
The first event was reported at 3:00 p.m. on Monday inside a house located at 111 Cerro de Castillo Street, in the Loma Hermosa neighborhood, where a woman from Cuba was found lifeless.
Neighbors reported to the authorities that a foul smell emanated from inside the house. Alerted by the presence of preventive police who came to attend to the emergency, the owner of the house later went to the scene to open the door for the officers.
The woman, as transpired in the interviews with neighbors, had emigrated from Cuba and was allegedly engaged in making loans. Some neighbors said that she had been missing for several days.
At 18:00 hours, the authorities confirmed that the woman had been murdered, as the body showed various marks of violence.
The second crime occurred in the Valle de Jerez neighborhood, where the body of a man, who could not be identified on the spot, was discovered in the middle of public roads by several motorists.
The discovery was recorded minutes after five o'clock this Tuesday morning on Río Mayo Boulevard, on the corner with Valle Fértil street. The Municipal Police and paramedics who confirmed the death of the victim attended there.
An hour and a half later, the body of a man with marks of firearm impacts and beatings, wrapped in plastic bags and a blanket, was discovered at the crossroads of Iztaccihuatl and Zaragoza streets in the Piletas III colony.
The perpetrators were seen aboard a white sedan car, from which they threw the body onto the asphalt. Municipal Police and Public Prosecutor's Office personnel attended the site.
In the first months of the year, crimes of all kinds have increased in León, except for intentional homicides, the Ministry of Security, Prevention and Citizen Protection (SSPPC) reported in its most recent statistics.
The house robbery, while in February there were 109 incidents, in March 124 were counted, which represents an increase of 13.76 percent.
Commercial robbery, which was already showing an upward trend, recorded 226 cases in February and increased considerably to 315 cases in March, or 39.38 percent.
Crimes against health, which already had a downward trend in the first two months of the year, increased slightly in March.
The robbery by passerby showed the same scenario between January and February with 115 and 147 cases, although in March it was a slight increase to 154, being just 4.76 percent.
The scenario for intentional homicides is different, both January and February of this year recorded 42 respectively, but compared to the same months in 2021, 73 and 49 homicides are counted, which together give a variation of 25 percent less, however, in March of this year 61 homicides were counted, equivalent to 45.24 percent.
