Squares burned during extraordinary elections in Venustiano Carranza, Chiapas

Different incidents of violence manifested themselves throughout the municipality, where extraordinary elections were held following the determination of the INE

This Sunday, April 3, the extraordinary elections were held in Venustiano Carranza, Chiapas; however, what would appear to be another election day ended up in an unusual situation, as different incidents of violence were ended with the burning of boxes.

At 08:00 (local time) representatives of the National Electoral Institute (INE) installed 79 boxes in the municipality of Chiapas where 46,800 participants were expected to participate; however, some civilians interrupted the process of taking the ballot boxes and setting fire to them on public roads.
