On March 24, the lawyer for General Fernando Landazábal's family, Ricardo Fandiño Puentes, spoke on W Radio about Piedad Córdoba's failure to attend the hearing at the JEP for the murder of Álvaro Gómez Hurtado, as well as Cordoba and Enrique Gómez Martínez, they sent documents to excuse themselves from the hearing.
According to Fandiño, those cited would be prioritizing electoral interests over the hearing set by the transitional peace court denying the “right of victims to seek the truth.”
