In the petition, they highlight that after seven years of his tenure, Ricardo Gareca completely changed the history of national football, leading the Peruvian team to a world cup after 36 years, as well as to the Copa America final after 44 years; and that he keeps Bicolor with the possibility of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
“Before there was no Peruvian Fan Day, we were light years away from being classified as the best fans in the world and we called the Qualifiers qualifiers qualifiers. Gareca changed that course and gave us back hope,” he said.
