These are the top-100 tennis players confirmed for the WTA 250 in Bogotá

Colombian María Camila Osorio, current 34th in the world, will be the defending champion of the title in this edition

Apart from María Camila Osorio, who is the defending champion after winning the crown in 2022, three other top-100 players in the WTA professional world classification, confirmed their registration to be present, also, in the twenty-ninth edition of the Colsanitas Cup, the international tournament of most important women's professional tennis in Latin America and competition that starts this April 2 at the Country Club of Bogotá, Colombia.

The current 79, 83 and 86 in the world, in their order Swedish Rebecca Peterson, Hungarian Panna Udvardy, and Czech Marie Bouzkova, joined this list in which Colombian Camila Osorio (34 in the world), Brazilian Beatris Haddad-Maia (62 in the world), and Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova were already confirmed (92) of the world).

Peterson, who reached the 43rd ranking in the world in 2019, has on his record two titles in WTA tournaments, and has just reached the second round of the Australian Open; Udvardy, 23, last year won the semifinals of the Montevideo and Brasilia tournaments, as well as the semifinals of the Argentina Open; while Bouzkova, also 23 years old, comes from reaching this year's WTA Guadalajara final, as well as the Phllip Island 2021 and Monterrey 2020 finals.

María Camila Osorio continues to consolidate itself as the best women's racket in the country, but also at the Latin American level. On March 21, she appeared in 34th place on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) list, the best in her professional career, while the next Latina is the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia.

The 20-year-old Cucuteña had her best position (35) after the completion of the WTA 250 in Monterrey, in which she fell in the final to Canadian title defender Leylah Fernández. It is worth remembering that the match was not without controversy, because, when the coffee maker was about to win, there was a blackout of some lights, which is why it was suspended for a few minutes.

His next participation, after the open held in Mexico, was the first round of the BNP Paribas 2022 Open, also known as the Indian Wells Masters 1000. Then, on March 10, facing Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich, she decided to leave the match and lost by retirement in the sixth game of the second set. The reason: some discomfort in his arm, which he had already felt in other competitions.
