Writing Sports, 22 Mar Receiver Davante Adams, former Green Bay Packers player, confessed on Tuesday that playing for the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders was a dream he had since childhood. “I was a Raiders fan all my life, I always wanted to be a Raider. It's a dream come true. In my third grade yearbook I said, “I want to be an NFL star and I was wearing a Charles Woodson jersey at the time,” Adams explained in his presentation. Woodson, now 45, played for the Raiders in two stages, between 1998 and 2005, and between 2013 and 2015, and like Adams he also performed for the Packers, he did so from 2006 to 2012. Davante Adams is 29 years old. Since joining the NFL in 2014, he was part of the Packers until 2021. The 2022 season will be the first season with the team of his dreams. “I guess this moment was destined to happen,” the receiver said. The man born in Redwood City, California, stressed that he was excited about the high competition that awaits the Raiders in the Western Division of the American Conference with rivals such as the Chiefs, the Chargers and the Broncos. “It's the best Division right now. It's not going to be easy, but it's definitely something I'm waiting for, I'm always looking for a challenge. The Chargers added a few more pieces, as did the Broncos, there are the Chiefs and we are here.” The five-time Pro Bowl was the leader in yards gained per pass at the Packers in their final season with 1,553, 123 receptions and 11 scores that shaped the best season of their career. Also on Tuesday the Raiders reached an agreement for the 2022 campaign with 27-year-old receiver Damarcus Robinson, offender who spent six seasons with Kansas City; in addition, they added 27-year-old former Bills defensive lineman Vernon Butler. In other relevant free agency moves, the Miami Dolphins tied 30-year-old offensive lineman Terron Armstead for five years and $75 million; in 2021 he played for the New Orleans Saints. The three-time Pro Bowl will reinforce the protection of the young passer Tua Tagovailoa, 24 years old, who in the previous campaign was captured 20 times. In Minnesota, the Vikings hired former Green Bay Packers linebacker Za'Darius Smith, and 29-year-old defensive end Jarran Reed will play in 2022 for the Packers; last season he defended the chiefs.EFEAS/RCG/GA
