
This Tuesday, March 22, the doors of a new edition of the International Carnival of the Arts will open in Barranquilla; a stage that brings together an extensive agenda with a large number of events that will be composed by a total of 40 national and foreign artists, from different regions, each with a show different in order to exchange knowledge.
All of this will have as its epicenter 'La Cueva', that legendary restaurant that has also functioned as a museum and gallery, and it will be on this same stage where a tribute to the life and work of Gabriel García Márquez will be celebrated; much of the programme is focused on the nobel prize for literature.
In addition, major music references such as singer Lido Pimienta, filmmaker Rodrigo García Barcha, historian Diana Uribe and journalist Diana López Zuleta will be responsible for nurturing the Carnival events.
From Tuesday at 8:45 in the morning, the doors of La Cueva will be open to the public; in fact, at that time the Carnival will be inaugurated with the screening of the clip 'The rum is tasty. ' Afterwards, the day will be complemented by six events, including:
1. 3:00 p.m.: Pain that is not erased, conversation with Diana López Zuleta; there she will talk about political violence in Colombia, focusing on her book 'What did not erase the desert' and her testimony captured in that work.

2. 5:30 p.m.: The baptism of Lido Pimienta, a show where the Panama-based barranquillera will perform the best of her repertoire, the one that has consolidated her as one of the most important artists in the country when it comes to talking about new sounds and sororities. Alvaro García, director of RTVC, will be next to her.
At 8:30 p.m. there will be a meeting called 'The Feast of the Buendia', in which the flavors of Macondo will be the protagonists.
On Wednesday 23, seven meetings will be held, the first of them at 8:45 a.m. also in La Cueva; there will be a short film 'Artesanos de la musica: La gaita'. Another event to highlight that day will be at 2:50 p.m. with the screening of 'Once Upon a Time: Alejo Durán', an animated series that rescues the life of the vallenato minstrel and his contributions to accordion music in Colombia.
Ten minutes later, the discussion 'Let's talk about Gabo' will begin, led by the Spanish historian Álvaro Santana, who will enter the universe of One Hundred Years of Solitude, Macondian landscapes and the path that the novel traveled to become a world reference for the Spanish language. And continuing with the thread by García Márquez, at 8:00 p.m., the poet and music lover Miguel Iriarte will lead the talk 'The boleros and gabo', in which several musical themes will be discussed around the 10 boleros preferred by the Aracataca-born writer.
On Thursday 24th there will be eight meetings and on Friday 25th, nine: on the first day, at 8:45am, the documentary 'Once upon a time: Gabo' will be screened, also an animated series that rescues, thanks to the historical archive, part of the literati's extensive legacy.
Finally, on Friday 25th - closing day - the attraction will be 'The group and me', a talk that will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the essayist and journalist, Juan Gossaín. There he will talk about his best stories with the Nobel Prize for Literature and dust off his anecdote with the writer.
