The capital's prosecutor's office announced the suspension of seven of its elements following various administrative offenses and complaints of ill-treatment of citizens and victims, for which they will be investigated by the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU), which will issue sanctions against them after carrying out the investigations corresponding.

In a statement, the Office of the Attorney General of Justice of Mexico City (FGJ) informed two agents of the Public Prosecutor's Office, three secretary officers and two experts of the temporary separation of their duties, as determined by the authorities of the agency, who demonstrated “possible irregularities in the performance of its work”.

Officials were suspended during the months of March and February for unrelated matters, since “In the case of a ministerial agent, attached to the judicialization area of the Territorial Investigation Prosecutor's Office in Iztapalapa, the disciplinary measure was imposed on him because, during a hearing, initial with detainee, did not request the precautionary measure of justified preventive detention, despite the fact that there were sufficient elements to bring the petition against two accused persons, because of their probable involvement in crimes against health,” FGJ reported.

Likewise, an official assigned as secretary officer in the Territorial Coordination of Gustavo A. Madero 4 is being investigated for allegedly presenting false and invalid documentation with the MP of the Investigating Prosecutor's Office, which sought to prove the participation of two people in charges of crimes against health.

The other of the two suspended Public Prosecutors was reported to the territorial authorities of Coyoacán for alleged ill-treatment of an elderly woman, who had been a victim of family violence, as well as to a graduate of the Women's Secretariat, both of whom were treated “in a diligent manner, derogatory, arrogant, and without addressing the aggrieved with a gender perspective”.

On the other hand, an officer from the Digital Complaints Unit also reportedly engaged in unsatisfactory behavior after badly treating an elderly woman seeking to report the loss of a document, as the officer is also under investigation.

Similarly, “an expert in criminology and another in photography were temporarily suspended from their duties, due to possible irregularities attributable to public officials, as the removal of a corpse was delayed for more than five hours, related to an investigation kit that was initiated by the Coordination Territorial in Iztapalapa 8″, reported the prosecutor's office.

The agency assured that “conduct outside the Law in which public servants of the institution may be related” will not be allowed, and therefore reaffirmed its willingness to investigate and punish agents involved in irregular conduct “in order to avoid impunity”.

On March 17, the FGJ announced that it would investigate two elements of the Investigative Police of the unit for the crime of theft and abuse of authority for events that occurred on July 23, 2021 at the offices of the Chinese Community, which are located in the historical center of the capital.

Inquiries against the coordinator of the Institute for Vocational Training and Higher Education and the former director of the Special Reaction and Intervention Group (GERI) will be carried out by the Office of the Prosecutor for Crimes Committed by Public Servants and supervised by the head of the FGJ, Ernestina Godoy Ramos.
