Madrid, March 17 Cervantes Institute, with the approval of the Board of Directors, is planning to open its first expansion in India in the city of Bangalore, which will start teaching Spanish early next year and will depend on the center of New Delhi. Located in the capital of southern India and the state of Karnataka, Bangalore has many technology companies and research and educational institutes. It is also the headquarters of the Indian Aerospace Programme and the Kannada Film Industry (official for the state). With more than 8 million inhabitants, Cervantes stressed that it is considered the country's “Silicon Valley”. According to Instituto Cervantes, Bangalore's technical, economic, educational and demographic potential (the fourth most populous city after Bombay, Delhi and Calcutta), makes it an ideal place to open up the first expansion of educational institutions in India. There is a high demand for learning Spanish. The expected high demand for Spanish classes from January 2023 in the future expansion of Bangalore is based on data provided by Cervantes in New Delhi, the school with the most students per year. Opened in 2009, it exceeded 6,000 registrations at other centers of organizations around the world last year. In the coming months, the Instituto Cervantes will carry out the necessary work to create eight classrooms and other units (reception, teacher's room, etc.) by renting a headquarters in Bangalore. The feasibility study explained in a statement that it is possible to obtain 100% self-financing or even more than that from the third year of educational activities. CN/CC
