Launched in 2019, FINA’s Pools for All program is one of many initiatives designed to ensure that all National Federations have access to state-of-the-art facilities and to make aquatics safe and more accessible for as many people as possible. Moreover, initiatives such as FINA’s Pools for All program and FINA’s Swim for All, Swim for Health, Swim for Life program, aim to ensure that the world’s pools, lakes and beaches are welcoming places for all of society.
In 2021, FINA committed $6.6 million towards development programs for distribution among all National Federations and Continental Associations.
“Swimming is an essential life skill and a sport that can save thousands of lives every year. As we mark World Drowning Prevention Day today, we cannot underestimate the importance of swimming education and its ability to prevent drowning deaths worldwide,” said FINA President Husain Al-Musallam.
“This is why we are committed to working with our National Federations and the entire FINA family to continue to get more young people into the water globally and raise awareness of drowning prevention,” the FINA President added.
“By working with our dedicated partners, including Myrtha Pools and Counsilman-Hunsaker, critical grassroots initiatives will continue to develop and grow with the support of members of the aquatics community.”
