Olympic Flame Journeys Across New Brunswick

Yesterday highlights include the torch traveling through 11 towns and riding through Port Elgin in a Can-Am Spyder Roadster which is a three-wheeled motorcycle.

Today, the torch relay will advance through 15 towns with Riverview being the first welcome. The flame will then travel through the towns of Lower Coverdale, Hillsborough, Hopewell Cape, Hopewell Rocks, Riverside-Albert, Alma and Fundy National Park which includes some of the last remaining wilderness in southern New Brunswick and boasts the highest tides in the world.

The flame will travel next to the towns of Sussex Corner, Sussex, Hampton, Quispamsis, Rothesay and Renforth which is located on the south bank of the Kennebecasis River.

The torch will arrive at its final destination of the day in the town of Saint John, the largest city in the province of New Brunswick and the oldest incorporated city in Canada. A welcome celebration is planned for the evening at the Port of Saint John cruise ship terminal. Festivities include singing, piping, drumming, dancing and a special Aboriginal performance.

Tomorrow, the torch will advance through 8 towns traveling northwest through New Brunswick.
