Nieuwegein, 20 September 2011 – Infostrada Sports has announced the creation of the Infostrada Sports Group, to offer unparalleled cross-media content and exploitation solutions to broadcasters, publishers, event organizers, federations and sports rights holders.
The Infostrada Sports Group will be run by CEO Philip Hennemann, currently CEO of Infostrada Sports, together with Arthur Zuijderwijk, the current Managing Director of Eyeworks Sport.
The ambition of the Infostrada Sports Group is to offer innovative and unique services to national and international sports federations, sports rights holders, event organizers and media groups.
CEO Philip Hennemann said the core businesses of each of the parties would remain in place. "For our current customers this move will provide significant extra benefits. We see the opportunity for integrated cross-media solutions to service their public," Mr Hennemann said.
"Additionally, we see consumers now want new experiences with their live sport, such as second screens, online streaming, interactivity and games."
"The Infostrada Sports Group will have a wealth of content and knowledge in-house with which to develop these concepts and serve a variety of markets."
The Infostrada Sports Group will continue to offer its sports data and event services, but will now be able to provide host broadcasting, broadcast and webcast distribution solutions, television graphics and ‘second screen’ content, complete internet design, content and web hosting, as well as creative cross-media solutions for revenue generation by sports.
Infostrada Sports Group was created by CMI Holding taking over Dutch sport production company Eyeworks Sport, and acquiring Infostrada Sports and Unicem Media. Combined with Sport2Media (already co-owned by CMI with Infostrada Sports) the four companies will form the new Infostrada Sports Group.
CMI Holding is a combination of companies with wide experience in all facets of television production and of fibre optic technology, networks, encoding and streaming.
Infostrada Sports analyses and distributes information on more than 100 sports with a focus on football and Olympic sports. All facts and figures of games, athletes, teams, competitions, tournaments, sponsors, stages and much more is stored in the world’s largest sports databases.
Sport2media and Unicem provide and develop the facilities for the production of video content, distribution models and multimedia platforms for sports organisations, while Eyeworks Sport specialises in the production, exploitation and distribution of TV-formats from sports events.
