Dick’s Tea Bar, whose venues in Val d’ Isere and Meribel are at the epicentre of the stylish après ski scene in the Alps, has become a partner of the 2012 International Sports Event Management Conference at the Cumberland Hotel, London on November 7 and 8.

With the clock ticking down to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, Dick's Tea Bar’s owners are exploring the potential of brand development in the winter sports sector.

Dick’s Tea Bar is among the best known venues and hospitality brands in the Alps. It was established by the Dick Yate-Smith in 1979 and by the mid-1980s had become the premier winter jet-set hang out in Val d’Isere.

In the late 90s it was sold to the first of a string of tour operators before being acquired by British entrepreneurs Seb Hall and Alex Fateh in 2010. They ushered in a new era for the venue by completing on a major programme of renovation to create a Dick’s Tea Bar in Val d’isere which meets the needs of today’s clientele without losing the ambience on which it built its worldwide reputation. In Meribel the group has complemented Dick’s Tea Bar by opening The Den Bar and Kitchen in the building above.
