Top Sponsor Atos Origin plans to use the Vancouver Olympics as a stage to show potential customers its IT performance.

“We are using the theme Delivering Excellence. As perhaps the world’s ultimate symbol of excellent performance, the Olympic Games serve as a metaphor for our commitment to helping companies excel and advance their business through IT and enthuse and engage our employees,” Dorien Wamenlink, Marketing Director of Olympics and Major Events for Atos Origin tells Around the Rings.

Atos Origin is the worldwide IT sponsor for the Olympics. The firm, based in Paris, has offices in 40 countries.

Atos Origin plans to offer tours of its IT facilities during the Olympics. Atos Origin will operate from the VANOC headquarters building during the Games.

As part of its hospitality programs, Atos Origin also will give its customers and potential customers the opportunity to see its systems in action during competition..

In addition to offering tours of its operations, Atos Origin also has workshops planned before, during and after the Games.

“We will have dedicated workshops and presentations around the different aspects and responsibilities in the Olympic Games IT Project,” Wamenlink told ATR.

“Here we will touch upon for example subjects such as IT security, systems integration, partnership management, change management and sustainability. Contents are typically customized according to client interests.”

Atos Origin has focused its marketing toward Europe and North America, particularly Vancouver.

“We leverage our activities for this specific region with dedicated actions,” Wamenlink said.

With a client base of international blue-chip companies across all sectors, Wamenlink says Atos Origin uses more traditional activation tools, rather than mass media used by consumer-oriented sponsors such as Coke or Samsung.

“We will use materials such as brochures, videos, sales presentation, case studies, web presence, especially facilitating our sales force to maximize the Olympic Games project in their client facings,” Wamenlink said.

The company will use more web content and social media sites such as Twitter and You Tube.
