No specific date was chosen, but during 2022 Furious Gaming, one of the organizations with the most history in Argentina and throughout Latin America, will be celebrating its first decade of existence.

With a video on social networks, the celebrations began that will run throughout the year with many activities and surprises. Furious was born in 2012 from a community of players of Starcraft II, the famous RTS title that was booming in those years. That group met in a forum that, little by little, got into the competitive one with the tools they had at that time.

In this context, Infobae spoke with Gonzalo García, founder and CEO of the organization about these 10 years, the celebrations and what will come in the future.

- Did you imagine reaching the age of 10?

“You live so much on a day-to-day basis that I never set out to do it, but it came, they flew by these 10 years sincerely. It seems like yesterday when I started writing questions to MercadoLibre hardware vendors to see if they wanted to sponsor my esports team (laughs). Sometimes I start thinking about the things I did at the beginning and I feel ashamed, but at the same time I feel proud of everything I grew personally and professionally.

In terms of esports teams, a decade is a long time, there are organizations that only reached a few years and even months, so all this time for La Calavera is a great merit and they have the title of pioneers well in the region.

— What do you think were the biggest challenges they had throughout this time?

—The biggest challenge is what I would say almost all esports teams have: to sustain and adapt to constant changes. It is a dynamic market, in full growth and that is attracting the attention of major players. Coming from nothing itself, from deep below, everything becomes more difficult, but it is more satisfying at the same time.

— And the greatest achievements?

—Looking at today's market, being among the most important organizations in LATAM is an achievement. Also be able to be a multigaming company with more than 6 different divisions and, in addition to that, act as an agency in some cases. There are many fronts to attend to, but still we have had very good results - both sporting and organizational - during the last two years.

The video posted on social networks is the start of a series of activities and surprises that will run throughout the year, all of which will be the occasion of the celebration of the first decade of the organization.

— How will the anniversary celebrations be like?

“I can't get too far ahead because otherwise the content guys kill me, but there are several surprises coming. It's been 10 years of a lot of history and we want the public to know everything we had to go through to get to where we are. Be aware that this is just the beginning of many things throughout the year.

Why did they choose to do it throughout the year and not select a specific date?

—Because defining a specific date was very complex, mostly because of how the beginnings came about, which was all very amateur. Then, over the years, we became professional. In addition to this, we also believe that being in the industry for 10 years, being pioneers and references, is something that deserves a nice celebration, so 2022 is going to be the year of celebrations for the club's anniversary.

Currently, La Calavera is positioned as one of the most important teams in the region, has Juventus footballer Paulo Dybala as a partner and, even, last year, reached the global finals of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship.

— What do you expect for the next 10 years?

—We hope that the gaming and esports industry will continue to professionalize and grow at the frenetic pace of today, that new players will continue to join, that there will be more competition, as it raises the bar for all of us. We have a lot of talent, we have to start bridging the gap with developed regions in order to stop being an emerging industry and be able to compete against the big shots. I am confident that in the future Furious will stand hand in hand with the largest esports organizations in the world. I am sure that we will achieve this and we will leave LATAM in the place it deserves to be.
