Niklas Süle, out for several weeks with Bayern Munich

Niklas Süle, current patron of Bayern Munich's defense, suffered a muscle tear in training and will be out for several weeks, the Bavarian club announced on Thursday.

The 26-year-old injured his left thigh on Wednesday. It will be out on Saturday in the Bundesliga against Union Berlin and will also miss Germany's next two international matches, against Israel (Saturday 26) and Holland (Tuesday 29).

His presence in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on 5/6 and 12/13 of April is also in serious doubt.

In recent times, Süle became a key player in Bayern's defense, with Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez, while Dayot Upamecano is performing at a lower level and was even a substitute in the Champions League.

Three players who were out at Bayern, Leon Goretzka (knee), Alphonso Davies (myocarditis) and Corentin Tolisso (muscle tear), resumed training and could soon reappear.
