Victory beyond reach for Eibar, as they only manage a 1-1 draw with Betis

Disappointment on both sides as Eibar and Betis see out a 1-1 draw

Eibar were held to 1-1 draw by Betis down on Thursday at Ipurua Municipal Stadium. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Eibar were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Getafe away (1-0), the other to Alaves at home (3-0). Betis, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Granada. As the table looks today, Eibar are in 20th place on the table and has 30 points while Betis sit in 6th with 55 points after 36 matches.

Betis started the game well, thanks to an early goal from Andres Guardado in the 4th minute, to take a 0-1 lead into half time.

Eibar took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Sergi Enrich at the 83 minute mark and seeing the game end 1-1.

For Eibar, Recio, Kevin Rodrigues, Yoshinori Muto and Pedro Leon, came on for Pape Diop, Bryan Salvatierra, Jose Angel and Sergi Enrich. Betis brought on Aitor Ruibal, Loren Moron, Rodri and Sergio Canales, to replace Diego Lainez, Cristian Tello, Borja Iglesias and Nabil Fekir.

There were bookings for Pape Diop, Paulo Oliveira and Roberto Correa from Eibar. For Betis, Emerson saw yellow.

Eibar will next play Valencia away, with Betis facing Huesca at home.
