
(ATR) The first teams have qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
On Tuesday, Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands took home gold, silver and bronze respectively in dressage at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France. Perhaps more importantly, the three teams allearned spots at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Fourteen Olympic places are up for grabs at the Equestrian Games; three in team dressage, six in eventing team and five in team jumping.
Three para-dressage team places will also be awarded in Normandy.
The 2014 World Equestrian Games runs from August 25 to September 7.
Rio Volunteer Program Launch
Thursday marks the launch of the Rio 2016 Volunteer Program.
The program will be announced at a press conference at the Rio 2016 Headquarters.
A total of 70,000 volunteers are needed for the Games.
