Network Features Live Coverage of Olympic Gold Medalists Michael Phelps and Natalie Coughlin

Los Angeles – March 8, 2012 – Universal Sports Network announced today that it will broadcast live coverage of the fourth stop on the 2011-2012 USA Swimming Grand Prix Series with the Columbus Grand Prix from Columbus, Ohio. The event, featuring Olympic gold medalists Michael Phelps and Natalie Coughlin, will air on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10 from 6-8 p.m. ET, with online streaming available for free at UniversalSports.com.

Calling the network’s coverage are play-by-play announcer Trey Bender and analyst Mel Stewart, Olympic gold medalist in the 200m butterfly and 4x100m medley and bronze medalist in the4x200m freestyle.

In addition to Phelps and Coughlin, other Olympians competing include Nathan Adrian, Mike Alexandrov, Matt Grevers, Jason Lezak, Elaine Breeden, Christine Magnuson, Allison Schmitt and Kim Vandenberg.

The Grand Prix Series allows the best U.S. swimmers to compete as they prepare for the U.S. Olympic Trials and the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Universal Sports Network will also air Grand Prix Series stops in Indianapolis, Ind. (March 30-31) and Charlotte, N.C. (May 12-13).
