“The people put and the people take away”: José Ramón López Beltrán prior to the revocation of the mandate

José Ramón López Beltrán, eldest son of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), invited citizens to participate in the popular consultation on Mandate Revocation, which will decide whether Tabasqueño continues or is removed from the position of Chief Executive.

Through his Twitter account, a platform where he has been harshly criticized because it was revealed that he lived in a mansion in Houston, Texas belonging to a former executive of Baker Hughes, a company linked to Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex); López Beltrán assured that this Sunday, April 10 “will consolidate the participatory democracy in Mexico”.

Likewise, López Obrador's firstborn son exalted his father's administration, as well as his nation project self-described as the Fourth Transformation (Q4).

“Tomorrow, participatory democracy will be consolidated in Mexico. These changes are an important part of the fourth transformation of public life in our country. The people put and the people take away. This Sunday you have to go out and vote #RevocacionDeMandato #QueSigaAMLO #4T”, wrote López Beltrán on social networks.

In response to José Ramón's statements, users of that platform supported the position of AMLO's son, while others questioned him the origin and amount of his income: “It is a real honor to live this part of our history”, “See you at the polls!” , “Will there be boxes in Houston? ”, “Where do you get the wool to live as a king if you have never worked?” , “Will you vote from the Grey House?” , were some of the reactions that López Beltrán received from netizens.

According to the National Electoral Institute (INE), the Revocation of Mandate is an instrument for citizen participation “to determine the early conclusion in the performance of the person holding the presidency of the Republic, based on the loss of trust”, this mechanism will be implemented for the first time with the aim of guaranteeing the political right of citizenship through universal, direct, secret and free voting.

Ballots to carry out the Mandate Revocation will contain questions indicating the following:

* Do you agree that Andrés Manuel López Obrador, President of the United Mexican States, should have his mandate revoked due to loss of confidence or remain in the Presidency of the Republic until his term ends?

There may be two options for answers: that his mandate be revoked due to loss of confidence and that he remains in the Presidency of the Republic.

On the ballot will be the municipality, the mayor's office, a stamp, in the same way there will be one for people with visual disabilities. The consultation hours will be from 8:00 in the morning to 18:00 hours, for the consultation the INE printed 94.5 million ballots with security measures so that they cannot be forged.
