A regrettable event occurred in Buritica, Santa Marta, where they found a baby without vital signs on the beach and a few meters from a car. Apparently, the little infant would have died of drowning.
Edwin Guerrero, who is the child's father, recounted the tragedy. According to the father, since February 13, the child's mother and his partner, Yeni Higuera, denied him visits to see his baby, so he had to go to legal instances. That is why the authorities communicated to inform him that they had possibly found his son's body dead on the beach.
Edwin, like Yeni and her little baby, were residents of Bogotá, so he found it strange that they called him from Santa Marta: “I immediately moved to this city and as soon as I saw it, I was shocked. I identified him and my heart broke,” Guerrero El Tiempo said.
Since April 7, he has been staying in Santa Marta, carrying out the identification processes and a blood test requested by the authorities to corroborate his paternity.
As for Yeni Higuera, the baby's mother, there is no knowledge of her whereabouts. It is still a mystery whether he had the tragic fate of the little one.
“I don't understand anything, initially it was indicated that maybe she and the boy drowned together in the sea, but later they told me that they had seen her walking through a town near where my son appeared,” Edwin said about Higuera's disappearance, whom he didn't point or judge. On the contrary, he hopes that it will appear soon to clarify this tragic event.
Yeni Higuera's family commented that, due to the legal instances she was attending, the woman was suffering from episodes of stress and anxiety. He also noted that the woman disappeared from Bogotá since March 31.
Last Monday, April 4, the inhabitants of Santa Marta were shocked by the discovery of the body of a 2-year-old baby on a beach located in the tourist area of Buritaca. After several days in which the minor appeared as N. N. in the morgue, the authorities reported that they found the child's father, a Bogotá citizen who recently traveled to identify his son.
Samuel Guerrero, that was the name of the minor who keeps the authorities of Santa Marta in vigil, questioning what happened to him. It should be noted that the 29-year-old man, identified as Edwin Guerrero, claims to be the father of the minor after identifying his body.
The regional newspaper El Heraldo learned that there are versions of a supposed video from security cameras, held by the police, in which the minor can be seen in the arms of a woman, who is believed to be his mother. Edwin Guerrero told the authorities that the mother of his son responds to the name of Jenny Alexandra Higuera Casallas, whom he has not heard from since April 1 when he did not find her at home. Investigators are trying to establish whether the woman in the video is the ex-partner of the only man who has identified himself as the father of the dead minor.
