Adal Ramones told the millionaire figure that it was difficult to advertise in Another Roll

Another roll is one of the most remembered youth programs of the 90s and early 2000s, and is positioned as one of the pioneering late shows on Mexican television to use colloquial language and segments characterized by its casual style.

The program headed by Adal Ramones had the collaboration of other figures, then incipients, who are now popular with the public. Lalo España, Mauricio Castillo, Gaby Platas, Yordi Rosado and Roxana Castellanos made their pininos in the program that was born in Puebla and at the same time it switched to the restricted television channel Unicable, and then it was broadcast on open television, through the channel of Canal 5, where it achieved greater projection and popularity.

Another film was on the air for more than ten years and became a favorite among young people thanks to the entertainment it offered in each broadcast, with special guests, musical numbers, interviews, comic sketches and dynamics.

The popularity of the program was not only national, but also in Central American countries it managed to attract the public, even today some videos of interviews, monologues or sketches made during those years, were uploaded to YouTube channels, where they reach thousands of views, which speaks of the impact that the program continues to achieve over the years.

Adal Ramones was recently a guest on Franco Escamilla's YouTube program. The dynamic in Tirando bola developed while they played billiards and talked about anecdotes that occurred within the famous late night show of the 90s.

Within the talk, a theme emerged that amazed the spectators of the Escamilla program. Adal told how he managed to get Otro Rollo to appear on the national network, and this was because the show was one of the most revenues brought to the channel thanks to the advertising generated.

In the remembered broadcasts, pauses were commonly made to promote products and the cost per mention was not accessible at all. This is how Ramones declared it:

“In Another Roll at that time a mention, a mention of “Oh, by the way, gentlemen, I don't know what...”, there cost a million pesos, a million pesos at that time,” he said in his talk with the standupero, who highlighted the value of Adal's program for daring to be irreverent at that time.

“Right now it's very easy to be irreverent, it's very easy, on YouTube I can say whatever I want, c*los, penises, I can say whatever I want, this is my YouTube channel, all political parties, all countries ch*nguen to his mother,” he said. “You were the first, no one that I know of had said güey on television.”

However, Adal said that in order to position his emblematic program on Mexican television, he had to overcome many obstacles. He said that thanks to his success in Puebla, he managed to connect with Televisa's top executives in Mexico City, to whom he introduced the project.

Ramones revealed that he managed to present the program to Emilio Azcárraga Jean, who finally gave the go-ahead for Otro Rollo to be broadcast outside the local television station where he was born.

“We had to go through all the executives. When I arrived in Mexico, we were coming from Puebla, doing the program for ten months, so Lalo Suárez edited several fragments on VHS... It was going through a lot of filters, a lot of people who wanted to throw you, a lot of people who wanted to put their foot in, it was a whole kind of marathon to achieve a project,” recalled the actor who currently partnered with Adrián Uribe to release his own comedic content in a new production house.
