Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, one of Juventus' referents in recent years, appeared before the Turin Prosecutor's Office on April 4. The player gave his testimony regarding an investigation carried out by the Italian Financial Police against the club for alleged irregularities throughout 2020.

Two years ago, specifically in March, Vecchia Signora reported that it reached an agreement with its players to give up four months of their salary to counteract the economic crisis resulting from the pandemic. However, the pact was allegedly not as it was painted.

The Italian press pointed out that the real agreement reached by the Juve leadership with the players was a deadline to pay three of the four months' salary, but recorded it in its financial statements as a waiver of salary to save money on paying taxes.

Thus, Cuadrado appeared before the investigating body at 10 in the morning. Two hours later, the captain of the team, Giorgio Chiellini, came to answer the authorities' questions. Then followed by fellow defender Leonardo Bonucci.

“The players — the Prosecutor's Office has already heard Dybala, Bernardeschi and Alex Sandro — are asked to explain the agreement for the salary cut in 2020, in the covid era, and the return of a part in later years, which for prosecutors would constitute false accounting. Other hearings are not ruled out in the next few hours,” reported the specialized media La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Juventus' most recent match was the loss by the slightest difference to Inter Milan, for matchday 31 of Serie A. With Juan Guillermo Cuadrado as the starter, from beginning to end of the engagement he sought the triumph that would bring him closer to the top of the league. However, the lack of definition happened to him a collection account.

As in football the one who does not score the goals sees them do, it was Inter Milan, who had not reached the rival portico, who hit the scoreboard. After a childish Morata stomp towards a rival in the area guarded by Wojciech Szczęsny, from the 12 steps Hakan Calhanoglu scored.

In the first instance, the Polish goalkeeper saved the penalty, but the collection had to be repeated after an invasion of the small area. Already on the second occasion, Calhanoglu, with a powerful shot did not spare. Cuadrado, for his part, demanded so much to the central judge that he received the yellow card.

After the defeat, Juventus placed fourth in Calcio and almost resigned to getting a new Scudetto. Meanwhile, those commanded by Simone Inzaghi continued to be third. They are 6 points behind Napoli and 6 points behind Inter Milan, but with the advantage of having a pending match.

The next match for the Turin team will be on April 9, against Cagliari, just three points away from falling into relegation positions. On the other hand, Inter Milan will visit Hellas Verona.
