The UK Ministry of Defense assured that Russia is redistributing troops from Georgia to Ukraine and has detailed that between 1,200 and 2,000 of its forces have been reorganized into three tactical battalion groups.

This was confirmed by British Intelligence in its official Twitter profile, where it stated that this action by Moscow, which seeks to “strengthen its invasion in the country”, is an “indication of the unexpected losses” it has suffered since the invasion began.

On the other hand, UK Foreign Minister Liz Truss met on Thursday in India with her Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, as part of a common effort between the two nations to “work and deter aggressors”, as well as “reduce vulnerability to coercion and strengthen global security” within the framework of the invasion.

During his official trip to the country, Truss addressed issues such as common efforts in trade and defence, including innovative security technology, according to a statement from the British Government.

“Deeper ties between Britain and India will boost security in the Indo-Pacific and in the world, and create jobs and opportunities in both countries,” he said, adding that “this is more important in the context of Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.”

The UK Government announced sanctions on Thursday against fourteen other Russian entities and citizens, including the media, in the framework of a series of punitive measures against Moscow.

The British Executive said in a statement that among those sanctioned are “propagandists and state media who spread lies and deception about Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine”.

Among those sanctioned is the presenter Sergei Brilev, who works for the Rossiya 24 television network and whom London accuses of being “a Putin propagandist”. “Having lived in the United Kingdom in the past, Brilev will not be able to access any of his assets or continue his professional business in the UK,” he said.

It also included TV-Novosti, which owns RT, and Rossiya Segodnya, which controls the Sputnik news agency, on its sanctions list. The British broadcasting and telecommunications regulator (Ofcom) had already revoked RT's broadcasting license.

The statement notes that among those sanctioned are Aleksander Zharov, executive director of Gazprom-Media; Alexei Nikolov, executive director of RT; Anton Anisimov, director of international broadcasts of Sputnik; and Colonel Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the Russian National Defense Control Center.
