The Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office obtained links to the trial against 11 alleged members of the Jalisco Nueva Generation Cartel, linked to the murder of 13 people, including rivals who were disputed in the Cancun tourist area.

According to the official report, investigations and evidence confirmed that the 10 men and women were considered generators of violence in the north of the state. They worked there until their capture on March 18.

In that area they kidnapped those who engaged in drug trafficking to force them to join the CJNG, in addition to demanding information about their enemies. They will now face charges related to these crimes locked up in the Social Reintegration Center of the municipality of Benito Juárez, where they were transferred on March 20.

According to reports from the State Prosecutor's Office, in the coming days they will be charged with more charges of wrongdoing in which they are presumed to have participated in Cancun. After their arrest, clandestine graves were found in premises adjacent to the site where they were intercepted, in the Paraíso Mayal subdivision of superblock 107 in the municipality of Benito Juárez.

Among the victims were identified Federico Luna Cervantes, former leader of the local Employer's Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex), and his escort, who disappeared since December last year.
