A Bolivian citizen and an Argentinian woman were arrested yesterday in the middle of a vehicle control mounted on General Paz Avenue and at the height of the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Liniers. There, members of the Argentine Federal Police searched the vehicle in which the couple was driving and found themselves surprised: they were carrying school bags in which they hid four kilos of cocaine.
The arrests were made by federal agents of the Department of Tax Crimes. The detainees were traveling to the south of Buenos Aires in a white Citroën Berlingo when, upon reaching the crossing between General Paz and Emilio Castro, they had to stop their march at the police checkpoint, which consists of a population control installed to detect transnational crimes, police sources explained.
When investigated by security officers, the Berlingo driver hesitated at some questions and raised suspicions. The woman then raised her voice and said that they were working for a wholesaler and that they were delivering three parcels.

Faced with the unconvincing answers, the police decided to requisition the utility and in the back they observed several school bags, identified with different cartoons, stored in cardboard boxes. When they opened them, they found four cocaine loaves, with a total weight of 4 kilos.
Thus, after the rigorous consultation with the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 5 led by Judge María Eugenia Capuchetti - and the intervention of Secretary No. 10 in charge of Leandro Noguera - the two occupants were arrested and the drugs were seized. Both were made available to the auditing court for infringement of the Drug Law.
It is expected that in the next few hours they will be called to inquire. Meanwhile, the Justice investigates the origin of the drug, the possible existence of a place of collection, and also the destination of it.

Also yesterday, in the town of Salvador Mazza, in the province of Salta, two other people were arrested for transporting cocaine in backpacks. In this case, the arrests were carried out by members of the 61st Squadron of the National Gendarmerie who were carrying out patrolling tasks.
In this context, the uniformed men observed that the motorcyclists carried large backpacks that they found suspicious. Faced with this situation, they began a controlled follow-up and saw that the men entered a gravel road, which is used to evade Force controls placed on National Route No. 34.
The motorcyclists noticed the presence of the uniformed, stopped and tried to flee on foot. While they were doing so, a few meters away, they discarded the backpacks. They finally managed to escape. Then, the gendarmes opened the backpacks and found the presence of 26 rectangular packages, containing a whitish substance.
Subsequently, members of Criminology and Forensic Studies conducted the Narcotest field tests, which were positive for cocaine, totaling 27 kilos 146 grams.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office of Tartagal guided the processing of the proceedings and the confiscation of drugs in violation of Law 23,737 “Narcotic Drugs”.
