Salernitana on away loss to Fiorentina at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday. Fiorentina were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches against Bologna away and Sampdoria at home, by 3-2 and 3-1 respectively. Salernitana, on the other hand, lost 2-0 in the last match they played against AC Milan. After today's result, Fiorentina and Salernitana currently occupy 5th and 20th spots in the league, with 30 points and 8 points respectively after 17 matches.

Fiorentina started the first half well, with Giacomo Bonaventura opening the rout, at 31 minutes, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Fiorentina fought back, with Dusan Vlahovic finding the net in the 51st minute. The Purple One looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a 2nd effort from Dusan Vlahovic in the 84th minute to establish a 3-0. However they weren't finished yet and Youssef Maleh made it 4-0 just before the final whistle to make it 4-0.

For Fiorentina, Igor, Riccardo Sottil, Youssef Maleh, Lorenzo Venuti and Aleksa Terzic, came on for Nikola Milenkovic, Jose Callejon, Alfred Duncan, Alvaro Odriozola and Cristiano Biraghi. Salernitana brought on Filippo Delli Carri, Federico Bonazzoli, Andrea Schiavone, Francesco Di Tacchio and Pawel Jaroszynski, to replace Frederic Veseli, Grigoris Kastanos, Joel Obi, Franck Ribery and Luca Ranieri.

There were bookings for Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina, and Grigoris Kastanos, for Salernitana.

Fiorentina next face Sassuolo and Salernitana are at home to Internazionale.
