Crotone beat Hellas Verona 2-1 at Stadio Ezio Scida

Crotone's 2-1 win over Hellas Verona on Thursday, was hard fought at Stadio Ezio Scida. Crotone were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 5-0 to Roma. Verona are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Crotone and Verona currently occupy 19th and 10th spots in the league, with 21 points and 43 points respectively after 36 matches.

Crotone dominated the first half, with an early goal from Adam Ounas in the 2nd minute to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Crotone continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Junior Messias at the 75 minute mark. In the end though, The Yellow and Blues pull-back just before the final whistle, with a calamitous own goal from Salvatore Molina and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Crotone, Giuseppe Cuomo, Niccolo Zanellato and Jacopo Petriccione, came on for Pedro Pereira, Luca Cigarini and Adam Ounas. Verona brought on Davide Faraoni, Eddie Salcedo, Federico Dimarco, Kevin Lasagna and Ebrima Colley, to replace Pawel Dawidowicz, Adrien Tameze, Federico Ceccherini, Mattia Zaccagni and Kevin Ruegg.

There were bookings for Lisandro Magallan, Luca Marrone and Pedro Pereira from Crotone. For Verona, Adrien Tameze saw yellow.

Crotone will next travel to Benevento, while Verona will face Bologna at home.
