Elche were held to 1-1 draw by Valladolid down on Wednesday at Estadio Martínez Valero. Both Elche and Valladolid came from defeats in their previous league games. Elche were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Osasuna. Valladolid, on the other hand, were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Granada. As it stands, Elche are 19th with 27 points from 31 matches, while Valladolid sit in 16th, with 28 points from 31.
Elche started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Fidel giving Elche the lead, on 22 minutes to see out the first half 1-0.
Pucelle took the initiative in the second half, with Lucas Olaza finding the net just before the final whistle. The game ended wih a 1-1 draw.
For Elche, Johan Mojica, Emiliano Rigoni, Victor Rodriguez, Luismi and Josan, came on for Kenan Kodro, Fabian Orellana, Roque Mesa, Saidy Janko and Oscar Plano. Valladolid brought on Marcos De Sousa, Jota, Michel Herrero, Pablo Hervias and Luis Perez, to replace Kenan Kodro, Fabian Orellana, Roque Mesa, Saidy Janko and Oscar Plano.
There were bookings for Pere Milla, Ivan Marcone, Dani Calvo, Gonzalo Verdu and Emiliano Rigoni from Elche. For Valladolid, Kenan Kodro, Joaquin Fernandez and Saidy Janko saw yellow.
Elche next face Atletico Madrid and Valladolid are at home to Cádiz.
