The BCCI have announced that, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the final two matches of their ODI series against South Africa will be played behind closed doors.
The move comes following talks with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As things stand the series remains 0-0 after the first match was washed out in Dharamsala without a ball bowled. The second and third ODIs, to be played in Lucknow and Kolkata respectively, will now be played in front of empty stadiums in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.
A press statement from the governing body said: "The BCCI is making every effort for compliance with the regulatory bodies of the Government of India and ensure the safety of our athletes and valued fans.
"The BCCI will continue to take guidance from the Government of India and state regulatory bodies."
