Memories of the recent victories at the Arco World Championship 2011 have not yet faded away and it is already time for another booming event in the IFSC calendar.

The next highlight is the Lead and Speed World Youth Championship 2011, that will take place from August 25th to 28th in Imst, Austria. Young promising athletes from 14 to 19 years old, climbers who also took part to the World Cup 2011 and to the World Championship 2011, will rival for the titles and medals of World Youth Champion here in Imst.

The competition will attract in the climbing Tirol metropolis almost 650 athletes from 50 different nations. All thecontinents will be represented. South Africa will take part to the event for the first time. Thailand, Ecuador, Venezuela,Singapore will also join the contest. Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan,Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine and United States will send to Imst the largest national teams.

Recent protagonists of the Arco World Championship 2011 will be among the candidates to win: the Austrian Magdalena Röck (lead bronze medal in Arco), the teammates Johanna Ernst (fourth in lead World Championship 2011) and Katharina Posch (lead vice champion in 2009), Anna Tsyganova from Russia (silver medal in speed at the Arco World Championship), the Ukraine Danylo Boldyrev (third classified in speed and second classified in team speed at the Arco World Championship 2011), the American Sasha DiGiulian, (silver at the Arco Boulder World Championship and World Champion in the overall).

The event, organized by ÖAV Imst Oberland, will be held in Imst for the fourth time, after the 1997, 2001 and 2006 editions. The World Youth Championship 2011 will take place in the outdoor venue of the Kletterzentrum Imst. The athletes competing in lead will climb on the route set by Laurent Laporte, Martin Hammerer, Mark Amann, while the speed athletes will compete on the official IFSC WR speed wall.

Lead and speed qualifications will take place on 25th & 27th, whereas lead semis and finals on 27th and speed finals on the 28th .

IFSC Boulder World Cup in Munich will be webcast live on ifsc.tv. Highlights will be available after the event on ifsc.tv and youtube.com/ifscchannel. Replays of Semi Finals and Finals can be downloaded after the event on ifsc.tv. Complete competition results will be constantly updated on ifsc-climbing.org.
