At the end of December last year, striker Wilson Morelo returned, for the third time, to Independiente Santa Fe. His arrival has meant a lot to the club, as he has contributed to the sporting and commercial aspect.
The cardinal striker, who has always been characterized as the leader of the club, is very active on social networks, where he usually interacts with his followers and especially with Santa Fe fans. Well, a fan of Atlético Nacional responded to his Twitter account who confessed his admiration and invited him to be part of the Antioquia squad for a year.
“Mr. Morelo, with all due respect... Wouldn't he go to Atlético Nacional for a year? Look that between reds and greens there are no rages and you are a 'berraco'”, was the amateur's question. To this comment, Morelo replied:
It should be borne in mind that Morelo has worn the shirts of Millonarios and America, direct rivals from Santa Fe, where he has not had the opportunity to shine in the same way as in the team now led by Martín Cardetti.
On the other hand, in the capital's team at the point of goals and titles he became an idol of the club; therefore, a hypothetical situation in which another big Colombian football team would leave Santa Fe, would be frowned upon by the fans. In fact, it has come to be believed that the striker will retire from football, in a few years, wearing the red shirt.
Independiente Santa Fe is sixth in the standings, thus ensuring, for the time being, its move to the home run of the BetPlay League. Despite this, the times that the cardinal team has played at home the El 'Campín' stadium has had few attendees. Faced with this situation, the club icon has called attention for fans to go and see it.
At the press conference after the match against Unión Magdalena, which was played for matchday 14, Wilson Morelo confessed that he did not know what else to do to get the fans to attend the commitments and encourage the team.
“I am speechless with the fan, they always show me that affection and love, whether in the stadium or on social networks or when I walk down the street, that fills me. I try to give them all that back on the court, it's the best place where I can give them so much love back,” Morelo began saying.
He added: “I am one of the players who am very close to people and through my social networks I always invite them to come, I don't know what else to do anymore. We know that the fan of us is full of emotions, I hope with this victory to invite you to join us, this is not just us and the managers, but that this is a family and we all take this forward. The situation in the country is not very easy, and to those who come here, thank them because they come at a very difficult time. The invitation is for them to join us in the next match, how nice to always be able to play with more people in the stadium.”
