Grupo Firme preferred to pay a fine rather than disappoint its fans at the Sol Forum

Eduin Caz gave his concert attendees a surprise, as he had previously promised that they would “throw the house out the window” when they arrived in Mexico

The members of Grupo Firme fully fulfilled the promise they made to their Mexican fans to please them, because at the request of their audience, they decided to extend for almost an hour their first concert at the Foro Sol, located in the Iztacalco mayor's office in Mexico City.

“We said that when we returned to Mexico we were going to throw the house out the window, throw one of the Tigers,” Eduin Caz was heard saying. The performance should have ended around 22:45, but Grupo Firme played at least seven extra songs even though they had already finished their performance.

According to the Law on Holding Public Shows in Mexico City, if artists do not respect their program or schedule, they will have to pay a fine ranging from 50 to 100 days of minimum wage, depending on the severity this amount could increase, but it is about 8,643 to 17,287 Mexican pesos.

The event took place on March 24, while some attendees walked to the exit of the venue and others kept gathering around the stage asking for more songs.

The musicians from the Mexican regional were aware of this sanction and even asked their fans if they wanted to extend the show despite the possible consequences: “If you want to stay, we'll stay. We paid the fine and stayed,” said the vocalist.

Faced with the euphoria and enthusiasm of the audience, the performers of hits such as Ya Superame and El Toxico decided to continue playing, in social media videos such as TikTok, it was possible to see that people ran from the exit to the stage as soon as they listened to music again.

In many images captured by the public, it was possible to see that the extra surprise no longer had any play of light, so Grupo Firme played only under the white lights of the Foro Sol.

After singing seven extra songs, the vocalist said he was supposedly alcoholized and didn't care about the consequences of his extended concert, so he raised the prompter on which he reads the lyrics of his songs to show a message to his audience:

“The fine has already been given to us, it is not a lie, it has about seven songs that say there (on the prompter) 'Thank you' and they tell me 'Ya get down', but as it is worth it to me when I fart, we continue with another song” Eduin Caz said before continuing his impromptu party.

It should be noted that neither Ocesa nor Grupo Firme announced that the fine had been formalized or paid, but there was no information about another extension of the concert either on Friday 25th or Saturday 26th. After having sold all the tickets for these events, the band announced a new date for May 7 as part of their Enfiestados y Amanecidos tour.

The Mexican regional band gathered 65,000 people on each of their dates presented last weekend and managed to conquer the capital's public as part of their Enfiestados y Amanecidos 2022 tour, but the distribution of light bracelets and fireworks at the event caused many people to compare the event with the Coldplay show in Monterrey.

“Coldplay did not invent pyrotechnics but it must be recognized that it is an essential element of them” and “There is no point of comparison between a pop band and another from the Mexican regional” were some of the comments on social networks.
