Madrid, 24 Mar Chilean Camila García, director of the Chilean players union, and Cameroonian Geremie Njitap were elected vice-presidents of the world footballers union FIFPRO, during the meeting of its Executive Committee held in person at its headquarters in Hoofddorp (Netherlands). The event, which was attended by the majority of the 18 members of the committee, was chaired by the president and head of the Spanish Football Players Association (AFE), David Aganzo, and included in its agenda the election of the two vice-presidents. For the first time, the union will have a woman in one of its vice-presidencies following the election of Camila Garía representing the Americas Division and director of the Chilean union of women footballers (ANJUFF). The other vice-presidency will be held by former Cameroonian player Geremie Njitap, who already held this position in the previous Executive Committee, confirmed FIFPRO. “It was three days of hard work and debate, in which we analyzed the best alternatives to continue defending the rights of our players. The football industry is evolving very rapidly, and it will be up to us to offer the best options, united and organized,” Aganzo said at the end of the Executive. CHIEF WMO/JL
