Olympique de Marseille manage 1-0 win against Nantes

Nantes on home loss to Olympique de Marseille at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Wednesday. Nantes arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Lille in their previous game. Marseille were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Troyes. As the table looks today, Nantes and Marseille are 13th, (19 points) and 2nd, (29 points), spots respectively, after 16 matches.

Marseille started strongly in the first half, with Gerson giving The Phocaeans the lead at the 30 minute mark. The score at half time was 0-1. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Nantes, Willem Geubbels, came on for Moses Simon. Marseille brought on Arkadiusz Milik, Pape Alassane Gueye and Pol Lirola, to replace Konrad De La Fuente, Gerson and Amine Harit.

The referee booked Nicolas Pallois and Alban Lafont from Nantes and Nicolas Pallois (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Marseille's Gerson and Alvaro Gonzalez also received a yellow.

Nantes will next travel to FC Lorient, while Marseille will face Brest at home.
