The former head of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (STPS), Javier Lozano Alarcón, attacked the head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), Adán Augusto López, after the latter promoted the consultation of Revocation of Mandate.

Through his official Twitter account, the activist of the National Action Party (PAN) declared that the official committed a “flagrant violation” of electoral legislation, as he promoted a democratic exercise when the country is in an electoral ban.

He also pointed out that such an act, which was carried out with people from the Movement for National Regeneration (Morena), is a clear sign of “desperation” to gain followers as President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) will be approaching the consultation to which President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) will undergo on April 10.

“This flagrant violation of electoral legislation, the recklessness of a Minister of the Interior expressing himself the way he did on the weekend, combined with the activism of the entire Morenist apparatus is a sign of his desperation for #RevocacionDeMandato,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.

During his tours of Coahuila and Sonora, the Secretary of La Segob promoted the democratic exercise, despite the restrictions maintained by the National Electoral Institute (INE) and the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF).

During his speech, the former governor of Tabasco assured that he is not afraid of sanctions imposed on him by the electoral authority, since, he said, he had the authorization of the Mexican president to make the statement he issued.

Adán Augusto López also pointed out that he was invited to those northern states of the Mexican Republic to discuss the issue of López Obrador's Electric Reform; however, he avoided talking about this modification in order to publicize the exercise of the Mandate Revocation.

In addition, the secretary of the interior pointed out that the president of Mexico warned him about possible sanctions that the National Electoral Institute could impose on him; however, Augusto López assured that if in any of the excesses of the INE they chose to dismiss him from office, he would stand on the corner of Pino streets Suarez and Niños Heroes to say that it was an honor that they ran it for supporting Andrés Manuel.

However, this is not the first time that the secretary has commented on the consultation, since on 29 January - before the election closure began - during the Morena's plenary session in the Senate of the Republic, the official asked legislators to take to the streets to promote the exercise of participatory democracy.

“[...] start doing more political work now, let us not waste time in barren battles inside. That is not worth it, I think we must return to the territory, we would like to see, of course in the debate in the Houses, our legislators, but today let us reflect on whether it is time to be close to the citizens, close to the people,” he said during his time at the microphone.

It was then that the head of the country's internal policy, accompanied on the stand by the president of the Senate's Board of Directors, Olga Sánchez Cordero, and the president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of that chamber, Ricardo Monreal, asked legislators to take to the streets to promote the Revocation of Mandate, exercise proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
