Digital and Doping the Focus of Day Two at ISC 2016 -- Photodesk

(ATR) Delegates packed conference rooms to hear from the likes of key figures in technology on day two of the 2016 ISC.

Twitter, NBA, Microsoft, IBM, YouTube and Google discussed ways they can and do contribute to the growth of sport in a 'Sports Digital' seminar. Advancements in virtual reality and interactive technology played a major role in discussions at the conference. NBA Senior Vice-President Benjamin Morel states the basketball association is currently conducting one virtual reality basketball game per week.

WADA President Craig Reedie led a 90 minute discussion on doping in a `Sports Law` seminar. He was joined by the CEO of NADA Germany Dr. Andrea Gotzmann, Chairman of the IOC Disciplinary Commission Professor Denis Oswald and Deputy Director of the Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation Oliver Banuls.

During the conference Reedie was as a recipient of a lifetime achievement award by the ISC.

“In order to protect the national interests of Ukraine”, recommendations for athletes range from social media posts to recording any violation of the conditions imposed by the IOC so that athletes from Russia and Belarus can compete neutrally in the next Olympic Games.

The Refugee Team for the Olympic Games was announced

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) unveiled this Thursday its largest refugee Olympic team to date for the Paris 2024 Games, with 36 athletes from 11 different countries. The athletes, some from Syria, Sudan, Iran, Afghanistan and Cuba, will compete in 12 sports.
