(ATR) The CEO of Intel, an IOC TOP sponsor, has resigned after violating the company’s non-fraternization policy, which prohibits managers from having relationships with reporting employees.
BrIan Krzanichhad a past consensual relationship with an employee. The company was not aware of the relationship until very recently. Soon after that, Krzanich handed in his resignation.
Intel is still internally investigating the incident.
Krzanich had been CEO for five years and joined the company in 1982. Chief Financial Officer Robert Swan will temporarily take over as CEO while the company looks for a replacement.
Under Krzanich's leadership, Intel became a member of the TOP sponsor program with the IOC last year after signing a $400 million deal through 2024. The tech company announced earlier this year it intends to bring AI technology to Tokyo 2020.
Lacoste Create Olympic Heritage Line
In partnership with the IOC, Lacoste will release an Olympic Heritage lifestyle line.
The men’s clothing and accessories line will feature design elements celebrating the 50th year anniversaries of the Grenoble 1968 Olympic Winter Games and Mexico City 1968 Olympic Games.
Lacoste signed a licensing agreement with the IOC as part of the organization’s Global Licensing Strategy. The partnership is set to extend through 2020, with a collection produced each season.
Timo Lumme, IOC managing director of television and marketing services, said in a statement, "We are delighted to announce the launch of this new collection, which marks the beginning of an exciting licensing agreement with Lacoste to further connect people with Olympic history and legacy. The collection celebrates the iconic designs of Olympic Games Grenoble 1968 and Mexico City 1968 on their 50thanniversary. These Games not only represented a turning point for the art and design of the Olympic Games, they also left a strong sporting and cultural heritage that is still acknowledged today."
The collection goes on sale starting this summer.
Liebherr is Title Sponsor of 2018 ITTF European Championships
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and European Table Tennis Federation (ETTF) announced the title sponsor of the 2018 championships, to be held in Alicante, Spain.
A large equipment manufacturer based in Switzerland, Liebherr will headline the tournament, which is from September 18-23.
Eurosport will also broadcast more games this year than in previous competitions. The schedule can be found here.
