Infonavit: How to join credit with your partner to buy a new home

The Institute of the National Fund for Workers Housing (Infonavit) announced a financing possibility to acquire a house together with a family member. The house can be new or used, but it allows you to share it with whomever you choose, whether it is parents, children, siblings or there is the option of doing it with a co-resident, that is, a friend or with your partner even if they are not married.

Both beneficiaries may use their mortgage credit for the purchase of the home and initiate the appropriate procedures to determine whether they meet the requirements. It is very simple since both of you must have a current employment relationship and have the minimum score. There are 1,80 points for each one that requires prequalification because each funding is evaluated individually.

Only two individuals can participate in obtaining housing. You and the person you choose to exercise the credit will have the right to own the house, so the property will be divided into proportional parts; you will both own and have to dispose of any matter together.

One of the requirements for when the home is shared, is that they must be responsible for dividing maintenance costs, land payments, water, gas, electricity and internet. It should be borne in mind that any remodeling they wish to carry out will always require the consent of the co-owner.

When both have the necessary points, they will be able to do the procedure. They must enter the Infonavit My Account portal with their username and password. If they don't have an account they have to register their CURP, RFC and NSS to create it.

Once logged in, they will choose the option My Profile and look for the ibAssociate Your NSS section, this will help you link your procedure and combine your financing. Then they must click on I am interested in a Credit and choose to buy, where they will be asked to select the type of relationship they have with the other rightful holder.

When completing these steps they will have access to the amount of their savings, they must select the Infonavit Credit option to process their financing.
