A very constructive ARISF-IOC workshop contributed to further strengthening the relationship and cooperation

The open discussions and the active participation at the second ARISF-IOC workshop held in Lausanne during the SportAccord Convention confirmed that such a forum highly contributes to strengthening the relationship between the ARISF members and the IOC.

The workshop followed a historic first IOC-ARISF joint meeting between the IOC President, four Vice-Presidents and senior management, and the ARISF President and the full ARISF Council. Cooperation in key areas was addressed and will be further developed through annual joint meetings.

The workshop was a great opportunity for IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell and Jennifer Mann, Head of Sport Partnerships and Coordination, to meet all the Recognised IFs’ representatives.

The IOC noted the Recognised IFs’ concerns about the administrative workload generated by the various programmes and will carefully consider this when implementing future projects.

As regards the topics presented during the workshop, the IOC encouraged the IOC-Recognised IF's to take advantage of the opportunities offered to them, in particular the Olympic Channel to increase the exposure of ARISF Sports, and all services and material regarding ethics, compliance, integrity, governance, prevention of the manipulation of competitions and the Integrity Betting Intelligence System (IBIS).

As far as the IOC-Recognised IF Development Programme is concerned, both ARISF and the IOC are ready to supporting the 2016 development projects for the benefit of ARISF sports and athletes.

At the workshop it was confirmed by both the ARISF President Raffaele Chiulli and the IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell that ARISF and the IOC Sports Department are available to assist ARISF IF's on the above topics and they are very much looking forward to the ARISF-IOC continued cooperation.
